Neil J. Shah, MBBS
Dr. Shah is a medical oncologist working with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists to provide cutting-edge treatment for each patient. Dr. Shah’s focus area is in the development of novel methods for early detection of toxicity from immunotherapy treatment. Shaked Lev-Ari, MD.
Dr. Lev-Ari is a current research fellow at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Georgetown University, and a medical oncologist from the Ella Institute for Immuno-Oncology and Melanoma, in Sheba hospital, Israel.
Her primary clinical focus is on the treatment of patients with advanced melanoma and other skin cancers. Her research interests include immunotherapy, biomarkers of immune related adverse events, and clinical trial design: establishing clinical protocols in solid tumors in combination with immunological treatments and manipulations of the microbiome. Dr. Zaemes is a resident in the department of internal medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital pursuing a career in oncology. Dr. Zaemes graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2018.
Adil Alaoui, MS, MBA
Director of Health Information Technology and Operations, co-director of the Informatics Core at the LCCC, provides leadership, integrated management, and strategic direction to align research requirements with technical solutions. He is responsible for the design and implementation of Health Information Exchange approaches to integrate disparate systems and maintain heterogeneous data in secure research data warehouses for secondary use. Mr. Alaoui is course director in the Health Informatics and Data Science and the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Programs. He will manage the data science team and innovative technologies, ensure secure access to accurate data and supporting technologies. Kanchi Krishnamurthas, MS. Data Manager, Honest Broker
Kanchi has more than 10 years of experience as senior data manager across various clinical research projects at ICBI and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center - Georgetown University. She is responsible for maintaining the clinical database and managing the interface with data managers at Georgetown University’s Clinical Research Management Office (CRMO).
Kanchi is the designated GU honest broker, she is trained and certified on managing and using Protected Health Information for Research Purposes. She follows data governance policies various standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control standards to protect the privacy of patients while safely allowing use of clinical data for novel hypothesis generation and research use....Kanchi K.
Camelia Bencheqroun, MS
Ms. Bencheqroun is the Data Engineer Lead in the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI) at Georgetown University. Before joining ICBI, Camelia worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst for several companies in France and Canada. She has over 12 years of experience in Data Integration, Data Visualization, and Software development. She is involved in numerous high profile projects to streamline the shared resources data collection, integration and analysis by being responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering the insights and identifying opportunities through the use of algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques.
She also works on Software solutions to facilitate the integration, management, and mining of clinical and experimental data from core facilities such as the Tissue Bank and Patient Registries. Camelia Bencheqroun
Shuo Wang, MS
Shuo is a Tableau Developer/Clinical Database Analyst at the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI) at Georgetown University. Shuo is a top-performed Data Specialist at ICBI with extensive experience in Data Manipulation, Tableau Visualization and Statistical Analysis. She enjoys combing her analytical and technical skills and leverage data to improve healthcare system and is passionate about driving actionable business decisions through the use of data visualization. Prior to joining ICBI, she was a SAS (Statistical Analysis System) Certified Advanced Programmer and worked for the New York State Office of Mental Health as a Research Scientist. Samir Gupta, Ph.D.
Samir Gupta is a faculty at the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI), Georgetown University Medical Center. Samir has a graduate degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Delaware. His research focus is on extracting information from biomedical and clinical documents using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) principles. Over his career, he has developed several text-mining tools to bridge the gap between the slow-growing manually curated databases and the vast information already available in unstructured format in published articles. Currently, as a research instructor at ICBI, he is working on developing novel NLP tools to detect various clinical phenotypes, including but not limited to drug toxicity (moderate to severe adverse events), mortality, efficacy and other outcomes from clinical notes.
Yili Zhang PhD
Dr. Zhang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics (ICBI) at Georgetown University. Her research interests involve clinical data analysis, cancer informatics, medical data quality, and health toolkit development by adopting machine learning and statistical methods. Yili Zhang
Michael Serzan, MD.
Dr. Michael Serzan, MD is a Genitourinary Medical Oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Serzan received his Internal Medicine training at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. During his fellowship, he worked closely with Dr Shah and Dr Atkins on the Georgetown I/O Registry. Dr Serzan continues to advise the team’s research efforts.
Andrew IP, MD.
Dr. Andrew C. Ip is an oncologist in Hackensack, New Jersey and is affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center at Hackensack Meridian Health. He received his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and has been in practice between 11-20 years.
